Trackhost Help and FAQ Support Page
Our Nameservers :
In order for your website to be accessible on the internet by means of your domain name, you must list our TrackHost nameservers in the registration record at your domain name registrar.
Our TrackHost nameserver information is:
| NameServer | URL | IP Number |
| Primary | NS1.TRACKHOST.COM | (207.58.128.201) |
| Secondary | NS2.TRACKHOST.COM | (207.58.128.202) |
If your domain name is registered through our WSTco Domain Name Registration Service, you can update and manage the registration information, including nameserver values, through that website.

Your Web Pages :
In order for your website pages to be visible on the internet, you must
put them in the "public_html" folder/directory within your account.
From the main directory in your account, you will see a folder/directory named
"www" and another named "public_html". These are two different names (aliases)
for the same folder. You can upload your web pages to either of these two
folders.
Files uploaded to your main directory, but not inside the "public_html"
folder, will NOT be accessible from the internet.
Once your domain name is active, your webpages will be visible on the internet
using your domain name as the URL.
(i.e. www.example.com )
To view your website before your domain name is active, you can use the URL:
http//207.58.128.201/~userID/
where userID is the userID assigned to your Trackhost account.
If you use an ftp client such as CuteFTP or WSftp to upload pages to your website,
you can use "ftp.yourdomainname" (i.e. ftp.example.com) as the "host name" to log into
your account with those ftp client programs.

EMAIL configuration :
Settings for email client software
set incoming mail POP server to mail.your_domain_name (mail.example.com)
set outgoing mail SMTP server to your ISP's server if possible.
to send mail via the webhost server, set outgoing mail SMTP server to
mail.your_domain_name (mail.example.com) and configure your mail client for
authentication using your account username and password.
Your email UserID should be set to the full "User@domain" (User@example.com)
for authentication and login to the webmail program.
Creating New Email Boxes & Forwarding Mail :
Your Default Email Account : This is setup automatically when your account is established.
Your email UserID is the same as your webhosting account UserID. Your default email address
is "UserID@Domain_Name" (UserID@example.com).
Creating New Email UserIDs/Mailboxes/Forwarding : These are all setup from your account Control Panel.
NOTE: You should NOT set up both a mailbox AND a forwarding rule for the same
userID as this is not consistent with mail delivery protocol.
Catch-All Mailbox : To prevent spam floods, your default email account
mailbox is initially setup to reject all mail addressed
to any UserID at your domain other than valid addresses, unless you change this setup.
Valid UserIDs are those for which you have established either a local mailbox or an address
forwarding rule. Of course, if you create a mailbox, or forwarding rule,
for a specific UserID, mail to that UserID will be
handled as you specify.
WebMail Access :
You can jump directly to the webmail software and read/send email for your account from any
browser, without going through the Cpanel.
To login to your WebMail, you may access it through:
http://YourDomainName/webmail
Your login UserID, and password for the Webmail login are the ones shown in the CPanel Email
"Add/Remove Accounts" area when you established the email user accounts in your domain.
Keep in mind that the sub-accounts require you to use the full "User+domain" as the UserID to login.
|
Control Panel :
All of our webhosting accounts feature the Cpanel control panel through which you can setup and manage many of the features of your account.
To login to your Cpanel, you may access it through:
http://YourDomainName/cpanel
or
https://www.trackhost.com/cpanel .
or
Your login UserID, and password for the Cpanel are the ones given to you when your account was established.
You should normally use your domain name to access this feature.
The trackhost.com address is given as a temporary method in case your new domain name is not fully active yet.
The control panel can be used to view, setup and manage:
Additional Email POP boxes
Email forwarding
MySQL Databases
Password protection for directories
Scripts and file uploading
Account use statistics and logs
Other advanced features of your account
Full documentation of the control panel operations can be found at
The Cpanel Website.
